Kamaripet ASI Pattar Suspended for Allegedly Assaulting Amateur Journalist
Hubballi EXPRESS News: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) attached to the Kamaripet police station has been suspended following allegations of brutally assaulting an amateur journalist.
Reports indicate that the police recently brought Bharat Tulajasa Katwe to the station, where he was allegedly beaten severely, resulting in serious injuries to his buttocks. The incident came to light on Monday after a local news website broadcasted the alleged assault by ASI M.B. Pattar.
Upon learning of the incident, Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar immediately suspended ASI Pattar from service pending an inquiry. The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) North will conduct a thorough investigation into the case.
Sources said that Katwe was brought to the station in connection with a quarrel which he was having with his mother and it is not yet clear why the ASI beaten him so badly. ACP (North) Shivaprakash Naik who is conducting inquiry said they are still investigating it and things are not yet clear and will inform the media once all details available, he said.
